ESABELLE | Oh! So, my point. |
Anyway, l pick her up from school today, she tells me the whole story.
And she asked me what to do.
JACKIE | What'd you tell her? |
ESABELLE | I said, ''Beats me. Ask your mom.'' |
So she's gonna, tomorrow. Be ready.
JACKIE | I'm ready. I'm ready. |
ESABELLE | What the hell is this? |
JACKIE | It's Thanks giving dinner. These are the Clintons having dinner. |
That is my son, the turkey!
ESABELLE | (Ben was shot) Did they …? |
JACKIE |
Yeah, they killed him, but he does it so great. |
#42. At Jackie's House
JACKIE | Sweetie, did you really think at 12 you would meet someone |
that you'd want to spend the rest of your life with?
ANNA | No.. It's just everythime I'm in the lunch yard and he's with ten of |
his buttkissing little weasels
JACKIE | You don't like his friends. |
ANNA | They all yell, ''There goes the virgin queen'' or ''the ice princess'', |
or some real clever cut like that, like it hurts my feelings.
JACKIE | You didn't let him kiss you. |
ANNA | Not with my mouth open. |
JACKIE | That's my girl. Good for you. |
Does that mean, though, that you let him kiss you with your mouth shut?
ANNA | Mom. |
JACKIE | Oh, sorry. Okay. |
What do you say to him when he says something like that?
ANNA | I call him a fart face, or pervert, or something equally lame. |
JACKIE | Sweetheart, you have to just ignore him. |
He doesn't exist. You don't see him. You don't hear him.
He's just nothing. He's not there.
You are too much of a woman to even bother with such a little boy as him.
ANNA | You're kidding, right? |
JACKIE | No. I mean all he wants is the attention. |
Once he doesn't get it, he might try harder...
but then get frustrated and give up.
ANNA | So I just ignore him, keep my mouth shut. |
JACKIE | Yep. |
ANNA | Well, you think Isabel would do that? |
I t's just, she's younger. Maybe she remembers how to do this.
So this'll work, huh? | |
JACKIE | (thumps up) |
