위문장에서  which 의 선행사가 무엇인지 알고 싶고 to the type of 에서 of 는 동격의 of 로 쓰인건지 알고싶어 질문드립니다.

1) they are related로 바뀌어야 하고요.

2) match them to the type / they are related to the type 에서 반복되는 type과 그 앞의 to 가 선행사 뒤로 갑니다.

선행사는 반복되는 type
두번째 type은 대명사로 바뀌고 두개의 절을 연결하는
관계대명사 which로 바뀜

3) of는 빼야함

그런데..윗문장은 토플 category chart 문제의 directions 인데 이 문장은 틀릴수가 있나요

죄송합니다 이문제문장으로 정말 한시간 이상 고민하다 질문드렸는데 윗분 말대로 교재 문장이 이상하네요. 방금 해당 문제 directions 을 ets 교재를 찾아보니 the type of organisms to which they relate 로 나와있네요

Which의 type에 매치하라..

그러면

match them to the type of which they relate to라고 써야할거 같은데요.

of 와 which사이에 to가 끼어들면 안되고..

Which를 선행사로 하는 관계대명사 that을 썼고 그게 생략된 형태라면

to는 relate to..의 형태로 가야겠죠. 관계대명사는 생략하고 전치사는 남겨둘수 없으니까요
